English With A Smile (EWAS) is the brainchild of Gadi Bossin, Ph.D., and Joel Tal, M.Sc. Bossin and Tal are educators with a mission: to make the process of learning English enjoyable and successful. They have collaborated in the writing of English-language programs for young learners since 1983. In the decades since, tens of thousands of children have learned English the EWAS way.
EWAS programs are taught as head start, as the English curriculum, as supplementary curriculum and as enrichment programs.
The Israel Ministry of Education certified EWAS materials in 1995. Since 2001, EWAS has marketed its products and services in different countries around the world.
EWAS provides a complete pedagogical and operational package for setting up and running English as a foreign language (EFL) schools and school networks teaching English to children. The company sells this package to franchisees in order to set up their own business. EWAS materials are also sold directly to kindergartens, schools, and teachers.
EWAS-certified teachers participate in intensive training programs and ongoing workshops. They receive detailed teacher handbooks and with easy-to-follow lesson plans and colorful ready-made teacher props to ensure their success — and the success of the EWAS program — in the classroom.
